Rental terms and conditions

Can I reserve the bike for a half-day?

We offer a rental service with a minimum charge based on 24 hours. This means that you cannot pay for a motorcycle rental for just one morning or afternoon. You'll have to pay the rental fee for a 24-hour period. However, nothing prevents you from returning the motorcycle before the 24-hour period.

If you'd like to rent a motorcycle for more than 12 days, we offer reduced rates for long-term rentals. Please contact us at vroom@goodmotors.agency and we'll send you a customized quote!

What happens if I bring the bike back after the agreed rental end date?

First of all, it's possible to extend the rental period once you've started riding your motorcycle. Just let us know and contact us by phone or e-mail at vroom@goodmotors.agency (we understand that you want to make the pleasure last longer!).

In the event that you return the motorcycle later than agreed on the rental contract without notifying our team, Good Motors Agency will charge you a late penalty.

The bill can quickly mount up, so plan the duration of your rental with a little margin, so that you can travel with peace of mind, and return the bike to us on time!

I've made a mistake, can I change my booking?

It is possible to reduce the rental period, as long as you have not yet paid the rental amount.

However, if you wish to extend the duration of the rental contract once it has been signed and paid for, you can send us an extension request by email to vroom@goodmotors.agency and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is there a minimum age for renting a motorcycle?

Depending on the cubic capacity of the motorcycle you wish to rent from Good Motors Agency, different criteria apply:

  • you must be 28 years old to rent a large-displacement motorcycle (over 35kW, or 47.5hp) and hold an A licence
  • You must be 18 years old to rent an intermediate-power motorcycle (up to 35 kW, or 47.5 hp) and hold an A2 license.
  • You must also be 18 years of age to rent a light motorcycle, and hold an A1 license (also known as a 125 license).

Underage A1 license holders are not allowed to rent motorcycles from Good Motors Agency.

Are there any charges if I cancel my rental?

You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 7 days before the start of the rental period. The reservation is then completely free of charge, and you will receive a full refund by bank transfer.

If you wish to cancel after the 7-day period preceding the rental start date (due to unforeseen circumstances, bad weather, etc.), we will reimburse the amount of the reservation in the form of a voucher to be used whenever you wish!

Verifying your identity

I have a foreign driver's license. Can I drive a motorcycle?

For European nationals, from one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

You can present one of the following documents to prove your identity when applying for a driver's license:

  • Valid national identity card
  • Valid passport
  • EU driver's license in European Union format

You are not a European national

There are two possible scenarios. Depending on whether you're in France for a short stay, or whether you want to settle here permanently.

If you are in France for a short stay (e.g. tourism):

You will need to present all of the following documents:

  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver's license, in French or accompanied by an official translation, or an international driver's license (except for British licenses)
  • You are moving to France and would like to drive with your foreign license:

A driving license issued by a non-European country (with the exception of a British license issued before 2021) is valid for 1 year from the date of acquisition of normal residence in France. If you wish to drive for longer, you must exchange your license for a French one.

What license do I need to ride an intermediate or large-displacement motorcycle?

To drive a motorcycle with a power rating not exceeding 35 kW (or 47.5 hp), you need an A2 license.

To drive a large-displacement motorcycle, you need an A licence.

The A licence authorizes you to drive the following vehicles:

  • Motorcycle, with or without sidecar, regardless of horsepower
  • 3-wheelers with power greater than 15 kW

Important: you must be at least 28 years old to rent one of our large-displacement motorcycles!

What license do I need to ride a 125cc motorcycle?

You can drive a light motorcycle with a B licence if you meet the following 2 conditions:

  • You have held a B driving licence for at least 2 years
  • You have completed a 7-hour practical training course

Please note:

  • If you took the 3-hour practical training course before 2011, you don't need to take the course again.
  • if you obtained your French B licence (with A1 equivalence) before March 1980, you are exempt from taking the training course.
  • if you have a European B license, on the other hand, you must take the training course.

The A1 license also allows you to drive a 125cc motorcycle with a maximum power rating of 11 kW, or a 3-wheeler with a maximum power rating of 15 kW.

You can ride a 125cc motorcycle without any restrictions if you hold an A2 or A license.

What identification is required to drive a motorcycle in France?

The driver's license is sufficient in itself, as it is an official identity document issued by the French government. It can be used as proof of identity, provided that the passport photograph is a good likeness.

Rental payment

Can you invoice me for the rental?

We can, and will, gladly do so if you ask us, so please don't hesitate to contact us at contact@goodmotors.agency !

How much is the bank imprint, and why is there one?

The amount of the deposit varies according to the model of motorcycle you have chosen.

It is :

  • 500 for the Piaggio Liberty 125
  • 750 for the Royal Enfield Meteor, Royal Enfield Himalayan and Yamaha XSR 125
  • 1000€ for the Royal Enfield Interceptor
  • 1,250 for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor and Honda NX 500
  • 1500€ for the Yamaha Tenere 700 and the Guzzi V9 Roamer
  • 1750€ for the Guzzi V85 TT
  • 2000€ for the Guzzi Mandello

This enables us at Good Motors Agency to ensure your solvency in the event that it should be necessary to deduct all or part of this amount to cover expenses related to abnormal or abusive use of the vehicle, contrary to the rental contract sent to you.

What is a bank imprint, and how does it appear on my statement or banking application?

A bank imprint, also known as a deposit, is a pre-authorization that is set up to temporarily set aside a certain amount from your bank account.

The payment will appear on your statement as such, but will not be debited, and will be returned to you free of charge at the end of the rental period.

The entire process is secured by BNP Paribas, our banking institution.

How does the online payment system work? Is it secure enough?

We work with Stripe to process rental payments.

Used by millions of businesses worldwide, Stripe is a payment infrastructure for online commerce that has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and holds PCI Level 1 Service Provider certification (the strictest level of certification in the payments industry).

We have no access to and do not store your bank details. Only the proof of payment is attached to your rental file, allowing us to ensure that payment has been made.

Equipment and bikes

What happens when you pick up your motorcycle?

30 minutes before the start of your rental, you will receive an email from us with a link. You'll need to go to this link with your smartphone and follow the steps indicated on the page.

You'll need to follow the instructions and take the photos one at a time, which will then upload themselves to our server.

Finally, you'll need to click on "Validate inventory" for all the information to be automatically transferred to us. That's it for us!

Where is the bike and how do I unlock it?

Our motorcycles are located in parking lots near train stations and airports, in more than 12 cities in France.

On the day, you'll receive all the information you need to get to where our bikes are parked. You'll then be able to identify yours by license plate number.

In the explanatory e-mail, you'll also find the code for the key box. You'll also find the key to the padlock, as well as a badge to exit the parking lot (depending on the city concerned). Be sure to keep your keys and badge!

If you have chosen additional equipment, it will be stored in a locker next to the bike. All that's left to do is take stock of the situation, install and put on your equipment, switch on the ignition and off you go!

When and how do I get back the equipment I've rented?

Once the rental has been paid for, and the deposit bank imprinted, we'll send you all the instructions you need to get to the bike's parking area on the day. Next to your motorcycle will be a locker containing equipment and helmets/gloves of various sizes. All you have to do then is retrieve the equipment from the locker allocated to you (the code will be provided) and collect all the equipment rented.

Am I covered by insurance during my rental?

You are! For more information, please visit our dedicated page: https://goodmotors.agency/assurance/

Is it possible to pick up the motorcycle at an agency and return it elsewhere?

No problem at all! We offer this service via our OneWay package.

To do this, please inform us of your wish to return the motorcycle to a location other than its place of origin, as soon as we contact you. You must return it to one of our agencies in France.

We will then send you a quotation tailored to your needs.

What helmets and gloves are available for hire?

We offer a range of helmets and gloves to suit all sizes.

Our rental helmets are made by NOX and are all CE 22.05 approved. Weighing in at 1250g (+/-50g), they will fit your head perfectly and provide you with the comfort you need for trouble-free riding. The chinstrap closes with a double D, giving you optimum support in all circumstances. The visor is anti-UV and anti-scratch, for optimum visibility.

Our gloves are CE 13594-2015-approved EXKLUSIV mid-season gloves in abrasion- and tear-resistant leather. They feature a protective shell on the phalanges, and leather reinforcement on the palm and fingers.

I don't have any motorcycle equipment. Can I rent some?

Of course you can! We offer a wide range of equipment for hire, from helmets and gloves, to side panniers, side cases with extra capacity, top cases, and even side cases and top cases to install on the bike, so you can carry all the gear you need.

Straps for hanging your travel bag and a phone holder are included in the cost of the motorcycle rental.

During the rental period

I've lost my key ring / motorcycle badge. What should I do?

Should you lose your keys, you must first contact us as soon as possible. We will produce a new key, the cost of which will be invoiced to you on return of the motorcycle. We will then look for a solution to bring you a replacement machine, or a new set of keys, depending on your location.

if you've lost your parking badge, we'll have to charge you €50 to create a new one, so remember to keep it in a safe place!

What should I do if my motorcycle won't start or won't run?

First of all, keep your cool, and contact us as soon as possible, by phone or by email via vroom@goodmotors.agency. Sometimes minor problems can be solved directly over the phone.

Good Motors Agency is responsible for the maintenance of the motorcycles we provide. If a breakdown occurs during normal use of the motorcycle, it's our responsibility, so you won't have to pay anything.

If the breakdown is not linked to abnormal use of the motorcycle, you can cancel the rental contract and be reimbursed on the basis of the unused rental time.

I've got a flat tire. Who do I contact?

In the event of a puncture, please notify us as soon as possible, and do not attempt to continue riding the motorcycle! Call us or send us an email at contact@goodmotors.agency.

The cost of replacing a flat tire is borne by the lessee. If both tires have to be replaced, Good Motors Agency will pay half the cost of repairing the second tire, while the first tire remains the responsibility of the lessee.

However, in the event that the puncture is due to abnormal age of the tire, all costs will be borne by Good Motors Agency.

I've had an accident. What should I do?

At Good Motors Agency, your safety is our top priority. Although we don't like to think of it as a possibility, we feel it's our duty to inform you of the practices and rules to follow should this ever happen to you or your fellow passengers.

In the event of an accident, first try not to panic, then :

- Protecting you and your environment

If you are visibly unhurt and in no apparent pain, try to move the motorcycle to the side of the road, out of the traffic lane. Do this only if you can, and in complete safety!

- Call or arrange for immediate call

In the event of injury, alert emergency services and dial 112 from a cell phone. Then follow the instructions. You can also call 15 for the SAMU or 17 for the police and gendarmerie.

Once you're safe and help is on the way, contact us by phone using the emergency call button in your customer area.

Try to let us know where it happened, the time and any other information you think might be useful. We will contact our Assistance partner to send you a tow truck as quickly as possible and put you in touch with it.

- Report the accident

Ask any witnesses to give evidence. If you can, take down their identities and license plates. Take photos of the accident scene and the surrounding area.

If possible, draw up a report. If you can't do this, we'll take care of it later.

Then wait for our Assistance partner to come and lift the vehicle if it is no longer roadworthy. You will be taken to the nearest garage, or the one we usually work with.

Depending on the situation, we'll assess the best solution for you. An on-call service has been set up so that you can reach us at any time.

Can I go abroad and ride my motorcycle?

The answer is yes! Just make sure you comply with local regulations. Our motorcycles are insured for use throughout the European Economic Area, the principalities of Andorra and Monaco, Liechtenstein, the Vatican States and San Marino.

After rental

I think I've had a flash / I've been flashed, what's going to happen?

If this happens to you, please let us know when you return the motorcycle. You will be liable for the amount of the reduced fine, as well as a €30 service charge.

What happens when the motorcycle is returned?

A few hours before the end of your rental period, you will receive an email from us with a link. You'll need to go to this link with your smartphone and follow the steps indicated on the page.

You'll need to follow the instructions and take the photos one by one, just as you did when you took the bike.

Finally, you'll need to enter the license plate number, then click on "Validate inventory" for all the information to be automatically transferred to us. You're done!

Make sure that everything is in the right place, just as you found it when you picked up your motorcycle. Penalties apply if the inventory of fixtures is not carried out correctly (you will find the amount of these penalties on our dedicated page).

If network coverage does not allow you to send us photos in certain parking lots, please take them natively on your smartphone and send them to us by email at contact@goodmotors.agency.

I've driven more than my mileage allowance, is it serious?

No, but we will have to charge you a surcharge per kilometer, depending on the model of motorcycle. Remember to adjust your mileage package. For peace of mind, opt for our unlimited mileage package.

If you're planning a (very) long trip over several days, don't hesitate to let us know!

Do I need to fill up the tank before returning the bike?

Yes, we do ask you to return the bike with a full tank of fuel, just as you did when you picked it up.

You will need to send us a photo of the gas station receipt with the amount and date visible, as well as the full fuel gauge.

If you forget to do this, we'll have to charge you €50 for service and refuelling.

Important: our bikes all run on SP98, so don't put any diesel in the tank!

Do I have to clean the vehicle before returning it?

We ask you to return the vehicle in the same condition in which you found it - clean! We recommend that you keep all receipts as proof.

Before you return your motorcycle, you'll receive an e-mail with the addresses of gas stations in the area that have kärscher. The list is not exhaustive, of course, and we recommend that you use your smartphone to search for the most suitable place to wash your vehicle.

Our recommendation: if you wash your motorcycle at a kärscher carwash, we ask you to keep the hose at a distance of about 1 meter from the motorcycle, as the pressure caused by the washing nozzles can sometimes cause a hose to detach, hampering engine operation. You don't want to be stuck at a car wash just before you return the bike!

Good Motors Agency reserves the right to charge you €50 in the event that the motorcycle is abnormally dirty outside, for travel and cleaning costs.

We pay particular attention to the cleanliness of our motorcycles. Thinking of making a bike clean is a gesture for the next rider, and so on!

I've lost or damaged equipment

Should this happen to you, please contact us by email at contact@goodmotors.agency as soon as possible, stating your full name and the date on which you picked up the bike.

In the event of loss of equipment, such as a helmet or glove, you will be invoiced for the purchase price of the equipment in question. We will send you a link indicating the amount to be paid.

In the event of damage to the equipment, an inventory will be made and we will get back to you on a case-by-case basis.

It is important to notify us as soon as you become aware of any loss or damage to your equipment. If we discover that an item is missing or damaged after the bike has been returned, we reserve the right to levy a penalty of €90 (in addition to the price of the equipment in question).
